Anti - Bullying
Our one-day customized in-service will walk participants through understanding the significance of positive school/organization climate in generating positive behavior change.  Strategies for developing leadership effectiveness, generating a consistent school/organization-wide approach to policy implementation, and creating awareness for the responsibility all stakeholders have in tackling this issue will be presented.

Participants will be able to identify and define bullying behaviors that erode school climate, create a common vocabulary, and understand the connection between addressing these behaviors and the Six Pillars of Character (Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring, and Citizenship).

Under the guidance of a CHARACTER COUNTS! National Faculty trainer, participants will learn current best practices in addressing bullying behaviors and evaluate whether those are currently in place in your school/organization. Initial steps to put best practices in place, along with identification of gaps in communication throughout the school/organization and larger structure will put participants in a position to start using the Six Pillars of Character to strengthen the climate of the school/organization.

There will be whole-group, small-group, and individual exercises and activities to build a solid platform of knowledge regarding bullying behaviors, your school’s policies towards addressing them, and to develop a plan moving forward as to how  to develop a culture of kindness that will reduce unkind behavior, but will also prepare all stakeholders with next steps if they do witness or are involved in bullying.

The Six Pillars of Character provide the perfect platform to address bullying behaviors in your community while strengthening and enhancing overall school/organization climate.
